In July 2024, I visited every comic book store around Pittsburgh (30 stores). I developed a 37 point rating system designed to help comic book fans find the perfect comic book store(s) when they visit this great city.

After weeks of research, I believe Pittsburgh is the greatest comic book city in the Western hemisphere. This guide details all of the stores in and around Pittsburgh. It also provides some history of the comic book culture that these stores created and continue to build. This guide includes maps, infographics, photos, ratings, and reviews.

As part of my research, I created a scorecard. You can download that scorecard FREE as a PDF! So you can evaluate comic book stores that you visit and help me decide which stores I need to visit!

SPX Small Press Expo

The other news is that SPX is this weekend and I'll be there! If you're in the DC, Baltimore, Bethesda area, come by and say hello. I haven't been to SPX since before the pandemic but it is a show that I have enjoyed since my first exhibition there — way back in 2000!?! In 2010, Rambo 3.5 won the Outstanding Mini Comic IGNATZ award. That award meant a lot to me, because after my first SPX, I came home with a bunch of beautiful mini-comics and fell in love with that handmade format. It definitely influenced my approach to making comics and zines! So I look forward to returning this weekend.

I'll have a little bit of everything so if you're coming to the show and you're missing any of my comics, zines, books, posters, or variant covers -- this is a perfect place to find them. And if you can’t make it, remember, you can still get my NEW zines and comics HERE!
