Here’s a Direct Edition interview with West Coast Davengers, Stephen R. Bissette, and me talking all about the Tyrant Kickstarter:
Headlopper cover
I drew a cover for Andrew MacLean’s Headlopper!
The original art is ballpoint pen:
I have been a fan of MacLean’s art and comics for a long time. So I jumped at the chance to play with his iconic character.
I also drew a cover for his other series, Death Fight Forever:
Death Fight Forever is inspired partially by 80s/90s video games like Double Dragon. The idea to do a pixellated, beaten up face goes back to some Street Fighter art I made in the early 2010s. This idea didn’t make my final piece from that time, but I always thought it made sense for a video game homage. I remember in Mike Tyson’s Punch Out, fighters would show blood and bruises between rounds. A few games did that. So here’s my effort.
And here is the original art:
I’m excited to see these in print!
Go check out the Tyrant Kickstarter!
Thank you!

Got the book with the slip cover, love the dino texture. I really like the cover design for Headlopper and the process work for the pixelated cover. Inspired!
Backed! Looking forward to experiencing Tyrant for the 1st time.
